Samuel P. Hull, CFP®, RLP®

Sam founded Northstar in 1994 and over the next 14 years, helped build Northstar into one of the premier Financial Life Planning and Wealth Management firms in New England. He is currently serving as a Strategic Advisor to Northstar as well as a mentor and coach to Robin. In the next phase of his life, he will be offering life planning, coaching and business planning skills to the both the financial planning community and Northstar clients through his new company, Riverbank Consultants, LLC.

He earned his RLP® (Registered Life Planner) designation from the Kinder Institute in 2007. He is currently studying Co-Active Coaching at The Coaches Training Institute, and will become certified in early 2009.

He is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and The Nazrudin Study Group. Sam received his BA from Dartmouth College, and his MBA from the University of Connecticut. He studied financial planning at Boston University and received his Diploma in 1996.

Prior to founding Northstar, Sam served as VP of International Business Development for several major US engineering/construction companies where during a 25 year career, he was responsible for marketing services for major energy and electric power generation projects in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and S. America. He lived for extended periods in Hong Kong (China), Teheran (Iran) and in both Sydney and Melbourne (Australia).

Sam and his wife Joan now live in Arundel, Maine. He enjoys wilderness canoeing, sailing, building wooden boats with Joan and being a “pack mate” with their golden retriever, Ceili. Sam has three adult sons and three wonderful grandchildren.
